Dr. Agnes Binagwaho is the Minister of Health of the Republic of Rwanda. After practicing as a pediatrician for over 15 years, Dr. Binagwaho led the National AIDS Control Commission between 2002 and 2008. She then served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health until 2011. Dr. Binagwaho chairs the Rwanda Pediatric Society and is a member of the Global Task Force on Expanded Access to Cancer Care and Control in Developing Countries. She serves on the editorial advisory boards of PLOS Medicine, Lancet Global Health, and the Journal of Health and Human Rights.
Dr. Binagwaho is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.
